Personal Branding In Business | From Bishop Gobanga’s Desk

The marketplace is a sphere of diversity that requires you to have a vast knowledge base of what you are selling.

Remember that I told you that before anything you do, you must do a personal branding of yourself as an individual. You cannot brand a business without branding yourself. That is the first form of business. You ought to make yourself marketable to others before you market your product or services.

The best way to approach personal branding is by going through the Bible to see what God says about you. Those scriptures that talk about a person in light of purpose are personal branding labels that you are meant to use to promote yourself.

Most of the lucrative business deals are sealed not based on a good pitch but rather on the fact that those who pitch the business are well groomed and are so confident of themselves.

First impression matters a lot more than what you are offering or exhibiting. You must be confident of yourself and not look desperate for a deal to the point where you are settling for something that is not worth your take. If you value yourself and what you carry, then you add value to your business product or service. Nobody will take you for granted.

Even in a case where clients find your product or services to be expensive, they will nevertheless respect you for who you are. Such clients are likely to give you referrals or they may end up returning to you. If they say no to you, it means that you are above the level they are or want you to be.

Personal branding starts with the need for you to set your standards and live for the excellence of your brand. Be consistent in maintaining your standards no matter how high they are because someone else will pay for your standards. Your high standards are supposed to reflect your values. Good standards, no matter how high they are, are supposed to be a reflection of your values.

Never compromise on your values. They are what give life and basis for your standards.
