Be A Consistent Believer | From Bishop Gobanga’s Desk

if you are a born again believer who is converted( the last time I checked most people may be saved but not converted to be authentic followers of Christ), please be a consistent believer.

Live your life in accordance with the values and principles of the Bible as your final authority on matters of faith and conduct.

Don’t be governed by peer pressure or the power of your erratic judgment on matters that are most important for your life.

This means that you must begin every season of your life with God. Start your day with God before you handle anything else you need to do. Commence from the realms of the spirit each time you are faced with situations that need decisions to be made.

In times like this where we have to deal with divergence of emotions or other forms of communication, it is essential for you to understand what you need to deal with rather than circumventing the process of handling deep seated feelings of frustrations in your life. Beware of what you say to people or share about people who you may not like.

What you say about people reveals volumes of who you truly are. It doesn’t make you any better than those who you accuse; neither does it validate your sense of superiority or judgement.

What you do to people is indicative that you either deserve to be treated as a friend or an enemy. It could also mean that you don’t deserve to be loved or respected by anyone since you lack the ability to demonstrate your respect for others.

“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer…”

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬-‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭17‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Don’t get too emotional over situations in your life. Yes, we are emotional beings but it doesn’t mean we that be emotional whenever we are addressing certain situations in life.

We must approach the throne of God to inquire about the spiritual aspects of the events that occur within the natural realm, such that we are well able to understand them through the spiritual lens of the Lord rather than relying on our human intellect or experience. That way, we can be able to handle these aspects of life without having to worry too much or being overly sensitive.

Lack of spiritual awareness is simply a result of the lack of knowledge of what spiritual bearing; thus, we end up labouring in vain.
