Legacy is not about the grandiose nature of our life achievements or how much we have achieved over time in terms of possessions. It’s not about how influential we are in the spheres of society.
There’s nothing wrong in being a great person who has ownership of possessions. There’s nothing wrong with being an influencer who commands respect in life. However, if that is all you live for, then you are building your life on the wrong side of life.
Legacy is people! Legacy is centered on God’s purpose in the lives of people. Remove people and replace them with your own desires and you are completely far from the purpose of God. No amount of personal ambition to succeed will ever get you to where you feel most fulfilled by your own work.
God’s purpose isn’t centered around what you own and what you have accomplished in your life. It is centered around the people that you have been sent to. In whichever sector of society you are in and the career path you’re in at present, it has to do with those people that you have interacted with.
Ministry is people! You have to give your life to Jesus as a vessel to be used for your mission. Your mission is the people that God sends to you.
The legacy of Christ has nothing to do with worldly things and influences or the trendy lifestyle that is being peddled by the media and politicians. The legacy of Christ is in the people that He impacted and how that impact has been the most profound influence in the successive generations after the Apostles.
Jesus left behind a “message”. The message He left with us is the glad tidings of the kingdom of God the Father. He taught on what must be done for people to enter the kingdom of God.
Thus, your aspiration for life should be to remain the the will of God. You should strive for the highest level of success in life by aligning yourself to the desire of Christ above your own desires.
